PETA: Mario is Pro Fur

Everyone's favorite siskin-like rights activists take in in one case again turned their destructive gaze to telecasting games. This time they're taking issue with Mario's famous tanooki suit.

Sassy from the violate over the brutal rodent-murder featured in DICE's Battlefield 3, PETA has found some other dealership to rail against.

From their website:

When on a mission to rescue the princess, Mario has been known to enjoyment any means necessary to vote down his enemy-even wearing the clamber of a raccoon andiron to give in him especial powers.

Tanooki may be just a "suit" in Mario games, just in real lifespan, tanuki are racoon dogs who are skinned alive for their fur.

The site even features a charming trivial dart game, in which a skinless tanooki chases a grisly, fur-draped Mario through a nightmarish, blood-tipsy reading of the mushroom kingdom. The halting is trusty to delight children all over right upbound until Nintendo's lawyers get idle words of IT. Another games from the PETA contrast-up include Super Tofu boy and the Super Chick Sisters.

Mario first donned the tanooki suit, which is admittedly quite grim when you think about it, back in Super Mario Bros 3, but he retired it in favour of of the Cape in Super Mario World. The suit returned, much to the transport of fans, in the recent Extremely Mario 3D Earth. Personally I find it far more disturbing that Mario lives in a land inhabited with mushroom people yet he has no qualms about feeding mushrooms to grow larger, that raises some very difficult questions.
